A Celebration A Year In The Making
When we were putting together our first 'mega-collab' in 2020, called Que Fuego, the plan was to create a night of sweet heat.
To bring together rising stars from across the hot sauce, food, mixology & design worlds -- along with you, our BXB Family -- for an early-spring celebration of spice. Señor Lechuga would make a hot sauce. Lynnette Marrero & Darnell Holguin would make cocktails. Andy Sensang & Trill Cooker would make dinner.
Then plans changed.
And when Que Fuego launched last April, we had to enjoy it (along with the recipes from our mixologists & chefs) while apart.
But we still found ways to stay connected. With Zoom. With Instagram. With videos of you all reacting to those 30 cans of Que Fuego with reaper peppers in them. And every single day, your support kept inspiring us.
Over time, Que Fuego became an emblem of resilience. Of bonding together to fight through the flames. So this year, to celebrate how far we've all come -- and of our beloved city rising again -- we made a couple changes.
Working with Señor Lechuga, we tweaked the recipe, going a few degrees hotter, adding fresh blood orange and saison yeast for a slightly peppery finish.
We also linked up with one of our favorite rising-star DJ & day-party collectives, with Tacos y Cerveza bringing 'Que Fuego: El Santo Ardiente' to life in a way we've never done before: with a 4-weekend Backyard takeover, bringing the heat to a party a year in the making.

For Que Fuego: El Santo Ardiente, we’ve remixed the original Que Fuego with four peppers – Arbol, Pequin, Chipotle Morita, and the famous Carolina Reaper courtesy of Señor Lechuga – ground them up in-house, and thrown them into the brew.
The heat’s balanced out by a healthy dose of blood orange, along with fruity and tropical Calypso hops. Brewed in the style of a traditional saison, this hot take will also provide the classic notes of clove and banana to round out the flavor.
