Daily 4:15 virtual happy hour to combine art, music, food and a skillshare from across the Bronx Brewery community
With events through Opening Day postponed while we all practice #socialdistancing, we’ve been trying to find new ways to bring our BXB family together while apart.
Which is why we’re excited to introduce a new online events series we’re calling The Boogie Down Hour.
Going live on Instagram each day at 4:15 pm — with certain sessions simulcast on Zoom & Google Hangouts — each Boogie Down Hour will feature members of the Bronx Brewery family leading a virtual happy hour. Designed as a way to share skills, take questions, teach lessons, spread joy and foster community while we’re all at home, they’ll pull from a variety of fields.
The launch class is below:
- On Mar. 26, MLB.com’s Anthony DiComo will join us to talk baseball on a postponed MLB Opening Day, alongside Gate6Fam’s Stephen Eng & Bronx Brewery fixture The Rye Man (as seen in our backyard mural).
- On Mar. 28, Sonsira ‘SYE’ Espinal — the Bronx artist behind the label design for ‘Juiced Ball,’ our March Up and Comer — will live-paint a new project during a Saturday happy hour
- After Michelin Bib Gourmand chef Andres ‘Chef Andy’ Sen Sang teaches an interactive cooking lesson on Sunday, Mar. 29, James Beard recipient Lynnette Marrero will teach the art of the cocktail on Wednesday, April 1
- Bronx creatives and entrepreneurs Bronx Native and The Bronxer will both dive into their expertise, with Alex Rivera (The Bronxer) teaching the art & science of color theory and composition in design on Monday, Mar. 30 and Amaurys Grullon (Bronx Native) leading a lesson the next night on how to take a brand online while everyone’s indoors
The series will culminate each week in a collective team shotgun — a Bronx Brewery team tradition for years — on Friday at 4:15. A weekly link will go out on our email list: click here to sign up.
